Hyphen Design created this truly innovative new garden product in partnership with an inventor who had become frustrated with the difficulty she experienced in building garden frames for protecting grown-at-home vegetables from birds and pests.
FIGOs provide an incredibly quick and easy solution to building plant support or protection structures in the garden or on the vegetable plot.
FIGO’s flexible arms can accommodate canes or poles ranging from 8mm to 16mm in diameter, ensuring maximum versatility throughout the garden. The arms can be moved to any angle, so gardeners can build structures of any shape they want.
The original FIGO concept is the brainchild of gardener Sharon Wong, who came to Hyphen with a basic idea for a flexible connector. Hyphen developed and improved the design to create a whole new patentable design that is not only supremely easy to use and very durable, but also inexpensive to produce.
Hyphen helped FIGO launch the product at the GLEE show at the NEC in September 2009, assisting with packaging and the design of the stand itself.
